Frequently asked questions
Good advice beginswith better questions.
Here are straightforward answers about getting started, how I work, the retirement estimate, privacy, fees, and how to verify my credentials.

Before we meet
If your question is not covered here, call my Southport office at (403) 225-0011.
What happens in the first conversation?
We begin with the decision in front of you, what has already been considered, and what would make the next step clearer. It is also a chance to decide whether my experience fits what you need.
What should I bring?
Start with whatever helps explain the situation: recent account statements, pension or CPP estimates, business documents, an existing plan, or a rough spending number. I will tell you what else may be useful after we understand the question.
Who do you usually work with?
I work with Calgary families and business owners navigating retirement, business transitions, estate and legacy decisions, family wealth planning, and second opinions.
Will you work with my accountant or lawyer?
Yes, when the plan needs their expertise. I can help keep the financial decisions connected while your accountant, lawyer, or other professional handles the work within their field.
How are fees and compensation explained?
The services, costs, compensation, responsibilities, and potential conflicts should be clear before you agree to proceed. Ask for the details in writing and in dollars wherever possible.
How often is the plan reviewed?
The review schedule should reflect your situation. We agree on that schedule at the beginning and revisit the plan when your circumstances, priorities, or deadlines change.
Is the retirement calculator a financial plan?
No. It is a simple illustration based on the assumptions shown beside it. It does not account for every tax rule, fee, pension, market change, account type, or personal circumstance.
Does the contact form submit my information?
No. The form opens a message in your own email app. Nothing is sent until you review the message and choose Send.
How can I verify your registration?
Use CIRO’s AdvisorReport to review registration and regulatory history, and Edward Jones’ directory to confirm my office, phone number, and connection with the firm.
Still have a question?
Call the office or share a little context and I will know where to begin.
